ABPmer provides coastal management advice
We are providing technical advice for a proposed coastal defence scheme on the New Forest coast.
ABPmer, a recognised coastal management specialist, has been asked to provide technical advice for a proposed coastal defence scheme on the New Forest coast.
The applicant is intending to apply for consent for a scheme to protect the frontage at Inchmery at the mouth of the Beaulieu River, New Forest. The area is experiencing erosion and coastal management measures are therefore required to protect the property from any erosion threat.
ABPmer has been asked to appraise the proposed scheme and prepare any related environmental assessments that may be needed in support to the consent application.
Heidi Roberts, Design Support Business Manager at ABPmer said “Our first step in deciding which type of scheme is appropriate is to understand the processes operating along a frontage. We will firstly develop an understanding of how the coast behaves and then confirm the preferred option with respect to effects on the coastal processes. Our in-house environment specialists will then undertake a Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA).”
ABPmer is an authority on coastal processes matters and regularly provides advice, modelling and a range of coastal process assessments tailored to the specific needs of a project and client’s objectives.
