ABPmer to provide Broads Authority with MarNIS Port Assessment Toolkit
ABPmer has been commissioned by the Broads Authority to provide a MarNIS Port Assessment Toolkit for managing marine risks.
The Broads Authority, a member of the UK National Parks family, has a statutory duty as a harbour and navigation authority to manage its marine and navigational risks.
The MarNIS Toolkit will allow marine risk assessments to be stored and linked to accident and incident records, providing for reflective review. ABPmer will support the transfer of existing assessments into a MarNIS-compatible format, through a Hazard Identification Workshop process.
MarNIS is a marine risk management software package designed to help the professional mariner, harbour master and port safety officer to meet and exceed industry standards. The Toolkit provides risk assessment creation and review, accident/incident logging and KPI reporting.
“The Broads Authority is committed to running a safe, welcoming and efficient marine operation which caters for the needs of the local community, visitors and the environment,”
commented Steve Birtles, Head of Safety Management.
“As part of a process of continual review and improvement, I am extremely pleased to be implementing the MarNIS Port Assessment Toolkit with ABPmer. We look forward to the benefits of improved monitoring, decision-making and being better able to link our risk assessment and incident data.”
