The British Ports Association (BPA) asked ABPmer to contribute to its thought-leadership programme, Port Futures, by preparing a White Paper on port masterplanning; a subject we also spoke about at their recent conference in Belfast.

Port masterplanning deals directly with the most testing issues facing the ports industry: understanding the nature of future commercial, environmental, technical and social change and how to respond appropriately.

For the ports industry, these present both big challenges and exciting opportunities. Successful ports will be those which make the most coherent infrastructure and property investments.
